It is Memorial day. It is a day that we honor those who have passed on before us. These men are an amazing example because they honor the unknown soldiers that have been lost in war. We can aspire to remember not just the unknown but those who fight the current wars and those who have been lost in the current wars.

I think this movie sounds awesome and have waited anxiously for it to come out on DVD this month. Some of My sisters are crazy about horses and are very happy that it has come out.

Hard Times

I saw this picture on another blog. I do believe that Christ gives us hard times so that we can learn and grow. Though those hard times seem so difficult and challenging and tend to try the patience that I have. I do feel peace in the end as I accomplish the hard task that was set before me and learn to grow from it.

Healthy Eating

I have been on spring break this week and I do believe that the weather that I am experiencing in Utah is not normal weather for the lovely month of April. Yesterday we had snow on the ground that lasted for at least half of the day. The backyard might have had it all day if our wonderful dog had not played out there. I am starting to wonder where all the beautiful April weather we normally get has gone.

I visited with my aunt last week and found out something really awesome that I think lots of people will enjoy. She is really into healthy eating. So She uses lots of grains that I have never heard of before. She has this fun blog that has recipes that her family has tried with her favorite grains. You can visit her Grain Crazy blog Here.

Launch Party

I had the privilege of going the launch party for Annette Lyon, Sarah Eden, Julia Bellon. They had a wonderful success of lots of people attending. It was very nicely done for the three wonderful books they were releasing last week.

Glazed Lemon Cake

My mom made this cake last week and I really loved it. It has an awesome lemon flavor that is not too strong.

Glazed Lemon Cake:

Ingredients

• 1 package (18-1/4 ounces) white cake mix
• 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant lemon pudding mix
• 3/4 cup canola oil
• 3 eggs
• 1 cup lemon-lime soda
• 1 cup confectioners' sugar
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

• In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, oil and eggs; beat on low speed or 30 seconds. Beat on medium for 2 minutes. Gradually beat in soda just until blended.
• Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
• In a small bowl, combine the confectioners' sugar and lemon juice until smooth; carefully spread over warm cake. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 12 servings.
